On Thursday the 8th of September Jessica Hostiadi, one of our College Captains, was presented to Very Rev Chris De Souza General and Episcopal Vicar for Education and Formation and Mr Greg Whitby, Executive Director for Schools as the St Andrews College recipient of the Bishop of Parramatta Award for Student Excellence.
Nicolas Carroll of Year 11 read out Jessica's citation for the award. Nicholas spoke very well and delivered a very good citation for the great work that Jessica has done for the College.
Citation
Jessica is the epitome of the student we would hope to see as a graduate of St Andrews College. She is a true example of faith in action.
Jessica works as a member of YCS, is a Eucharistic Minister and Catechist. She assists with the Vinnies Van and has been involved in both peer and community formation. Jessica is always one of the first to volunteer and assist in leading these events. She gives freely of herself and is always willing to publicly bear witness to her faith.
As well as her dynamic involvement in the faith dimension of the College Jessica demonstrates absolute commitment to her studies, as evidence by her results thus far.
Jessica is a living example of our motto "Doing more going beyond".
Jessica is a very worthy recipient of this award.
