Mrs Anita Weaver receives Ten Years Service Award

On July 24, 2014 Mrs Anita Weaver was awarded a Ten Years Service Award for her dedication and commitment to School Sport Australia National Diving. This award is the highest honour a teacher and official in New South Wales can attain for their continued efforts and mentoring of students.

Mrs Weaver has been involved in School Sport Australia Diving for 12 years. Her first appointment was as a coach for the NSW team which competed in the Pacific School Games in Sydney in 2000.

Mrs Weaver’s ability to connect with all the students in the diving team is evident with the respect the students show her. They listen with diligence and try to put her advice into action in their dives. Mrs Weaver has had a huge impact on many teams over the years. Divers under her care benefit from her expertise and enthusiasm, divers have many memorable experiences in the School Sport Australia Championships. In addition to her duties as a manager/coach, Mrs Weaver is always available for officiating duties at the Championships offering to judge and referee events when needed. She is a valuable member of the NSW team management.

Mrs Weaver has been the Diving Convener for the Combined Catholic Colleges for many years and has established a large, competent diving squad. She conducts sporting sessions and weekend training campus to improve the standard of the students in her care. Mrs Weaver’s quality coaching skills has made dreams become reality for so many NSW divers.

Mrs Weaver’s dedication and passion for the sport of diving has benefited students of the NSW Diving fraternity and the wider community of School Sport Australia Diving. She is a worthy recipient of the School Sport Australia Service Award.
