On Monday the 22nd to Wednesday the 24th of August, the St Andrews College Year 9 students completed their camp at the Great Aussie Bush Camp, Kincumber.
We had a fantastic time at the new camp venue. In Learning Groups, students participated in a variety of activities that included abseiling, archery, a giant swing, initiatives, the leap of faith, powerfan, rock climbing, a commando night, a disco night, and my personal favourite - a lost mud world!
Year 9 had the opportunity to experience the great outdoors with expert instruction from the staff at the Great Aussie Bush Camp, Kincumber and also from our College staff.
I’d like to thank the following teachers, for not only giving up their time for our students, but for supporting them through the difficult personal challenges that they overcame whilst on camp:
B2 - Miss Emily Pett
B14 - Mr Phil McBride
C4 - Miss Jessica Bisazza
C6 - Mr Rohan Isaac
F4 - Miss Stephanie Dito
F6 - Mr James Aronis
G10 - Mr Joe Lenehan
GB15 - Ms Therese May
Mrs Sue Cooper
The staff at the Kincumber site commented on numerous occasions that our Year 9 group of students was one of the best that has been through their camp. Congratulations to all of Year 9 on completing this wonderful experience. I am already looking forward to our Year 10 camp in 2017.
Miss Andrea Mansfield
