On Wednesday the 31st of August the Year 9 Fast Forward students spent the day at Western Sydney University Parramatta Campus for their first on-campus event.
The Fast Forward Program encourages high school students to see tertiary study as a realistic and viable post school option and it raises participants’ aspirations for the future.
The students were given the opportunity to get to know other Year 9 students from different schools in Western Sydney. They were put into assorted groups so that they were given a real experience of what university life is like.
The day consisted of a comprehensive program that aimed to provide Year 9 with tools and experiences that will help them in their journey towards higher education.
Throughout the day, students completed a “personality to careers” quiz, a ‘Survivor’ challenge, an opportunity to work with other like-minded Year 9 students to conquer a Fast Forward challenge, and a Q&A session with current university students.
Year 9 thoroughly enjoyed themselves on this day and are looking forward to the 2017 on-campus event!
A huge thank you to Ms May for organising this rewarding experience for these students.
