New enterprise Agreement for 2015 proposed for school staff

Foundations for Excellence

The proposed new Enterprise Agreement was sent to all Catholic school staff and the Independent Education Union (IEU) today, Monday 7 April to begin a process of consultation to consolidate a number of existing agreements into a single state-wide agreement which supports high quality contemporary teaching and learning.

The proposed agreement is Catholic Education's response to the changing education landscape in Australia today and responds to the priorities and concerns of staff drawn from the Catholic school employees survey.

Executive Director of Schools, Greg Whitby, said the proposed agreement is aligned with the strategic intent of our schools in the Diocese of Parramatta.

'The proposed agreement will allow greater scope to build the professional capacity of our teachers and staff, and contribute to a more professional and rewarding work life,' said Greg.

'As with any new agreement, there may ultimately be changes in some areas relating to the work of teachers and support staff,' he said. 'However, changes will only occur as an outcome from a consultation process and after a formal agreement between the negotiating parties is finalised.'
