Diocesan ACBC Social Justice Essay Competition

CEDP in partnership with the Social Justice Office would like to invite the participation of Year 9 students and their teachers in The Inaugural Bishop's Social Justice Prize Essay Competitions. Each of our Year 9 students are participating in the the competition.

The Statement for 2015-2016 is entitled, ​For Those Who've Come Across the Seas​. This document, with an introduction by Bishop Vincent Long Van Nguyen OFMConv DD, was developed in response to the longstanding divisions in Australian society over asylum seekers, particularly those who have arrived by sea.

Year 9 students are asked to use this Statement as the basis of an essay response to the following question:

What should an Australian ‘face of mercy’ look like to a refugee arriving in our country?

    On Friday the 17th of June, Year 12 Leaders, Claudia Linares-Motterle and Jessica Hostiadi prepared a night focussing on the ever growing issues in society of Homelessness.
  • Year 8 Japanese Taiko Incursion

    12/7/2016
    On Tuesday the 14th of June all Year 8 students attended a Taiko (Japanese drumming) incursion by the percussion duet, YuNiOn, as part of their study of Japanese.
  • Year 7 Verbal Combat

    6/7/2016
    On the 20th of June, Year 7 students had an incursion in the hall with the people from verbal combat. Verbal combat is one of the many theatre productions from Brainstorm Productions and targets bullying in schools, cyber-bullying and prejudice.
