Year 10 Food Technology High Tea

Year 10 Food Tech High Tea

Year 10 Food Tech classes held a High Tea Cook-off over two days on the 1st and 2nd of September.

We attended the first day’s session and were overwhelmed with the occasion.

The students were wonderful from the moment that we were greeted at the door and directed to our tables until we left completely satiated and with leftovers!

Our table was decorated very elegantly and the presentation was superb.

When the tasty treats started to arrive they were served by enthusiastic waiters who elaborated on the contents of the plates on the stand. The descriptions were very informative and then we tucked into the delightful offerings.

There were many items on offer including:

Mini quiches, mini sausage-rolls, mini pizzas, pumpkin scones, mushroom tarts with cranberry and tiny pinwheel sandwiches with smoked salmon, plus curried egg and chicken with mayonnaise finger sandwiches.

We were enjoying all the food immensely when we were advised by our wait staff that there were lots of sweet treats to come as we had only had the savoury portion of the event!

What followed was a parade of delights including:

Mini vanilla cupcakes, mini lemon meringue pies, scones with jam and cream, mini carrot cakes, date slice and brownies.

Just when we couldn’t fit another thing into our tummies we were presented with a delicious chocolate mousse and a raspberry brulee each.

The quality of each course was just divine and it was lovely to enjoy a beautiful meal without the tidying up that usually follows!

We know that a lot of hard work went into the preparation of each item and there would have been loads of washing up afterwards.

Thank you so much to the Year 10 Food Technology students and their teachers and class support, Miss Knezevic, Mrs Thomson and Mrs Dal Bon.

We had a wonderful time and we would like to congratulate you all on a job well done.
