  • the Cross honours the apostle St Andrew who was crucified on a diagonal cross
  • the Book symbolises our commitment to education and faith in Christ
  • the Star is the Southern Cross calling to mind our wonderful country. It is also a symbol of Mary, Star of the Sea and the mother of Jesus. The star also speaks to our aspiration to "reach for the stars."

Our history

St Andrews College was established in 1998 from the union of two schools: Holy Family High School and John Paul II Senior High.

St Andrews College is named for St Andrew the Apostle, the patron saint of Scotland.

In 1967, Holy Family High School was opened by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, an international congregation founded in 1875. Originally from Poland, the sisters came to Australia to meet the evolving needs of Western Sydney's growing population.

John Paul II Senior High opened in 1981 with strong involvement from the Patrician Brothers, an Irish congregation committed to education and mission.

In 1998, these two schools merged to create the dynamic learning community of St Andrews College Marayong. We are grateful to the combined legacy of these congregations who continue to inspire our college community.

Our school proudly celebrated our 25th anniversary in 2023.

We look forward to providing outstanding Catholic education for many years to come.
