Student Wellbeing

We support the social and emotional welfare of students and their families through effective strategies, recommendations, policies and procedures, guidelines and tools that enable healthy personal development in students and contributes to their academic success.

Our Mind Matters program is just one of the wellbeing initiatives we offer to ensure every young person has a positive school experience.

Learning at St Andrews

St Andrews is a place where curiosity, imagination and love of learning thrive through working together to provide the most effective, engaging and challenging learning experiences for students.

As one of the 80 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Parramatta, we’re working together to transform learning for students in Greater Western Sydney. This means reimagining and refreshing learning and teaching for today’s world and today’s learners.

The purpose and promise of a Catholic education is to inspire each learner - student, teacher and family - to discover a meaningful and flourishing life.

Our faith journey

St Andrews is a great place for students to grow in faith and learning. We value each student as an individual and share the values of the Gospel to help them discover the hope that is within and to experience a meaningful and flourishing life.

Every day, our students experience a faith-filled way of understanding the world through meaningful prayer and liturgy, service opportunities and participation in the Sacraments.

Beyond the classroom

We believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. Our school gives them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.

Be it participating in diving championships to playing an instrument in the school band, St Andrews is a place where every student shines!

Extracurricular activities we offer

Sport

Sport is a valued part of a school’s curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child by providing a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning. Participation, enjoyment and skill development are the cornerstones of school sport. Representative pathways are also available through the Parramatta Diocesan Secondary Schools Sports Council.

College Houses

All students within the school are placed into one of four Houses. Each house has two student leaders, known as House Patrons, who endeavour to work in building the house spirit of the College. The Houses are Bennelong, Chang, Frances and Gould.

Named for inspirational people, our House names challenge us to be proud of our Australian heritage; to strive for academic excellence; to continue our faith journey; and to always aim for our personal best.

Student Leadership

Experiencing leadership gives students confidence, celebrates strengths and prepares young people to make a contribution to our community and world. St Andrews offers a number of leadership opportunities both as part of and in addition to our curriculum.

The college hosts a strong Student Representative Council (SRC), a house student leadership structure, and other school and community leadership programs.
