At the Senior Campus Assembly held on Friday the 8th of April, Principal Nic Vidot presented Year 12 student Frederick Adutwum with his NSWCCC Blue for Triple Jump and Long Jump.
Frederick won two gold medals at the 2015 NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Athletics Championships. One in the 16 Year Long Jump and the other in the 16 Year Triple Jump.
He also won gold in the Long Jump and Triple Jump at the NSW All Schools Athletics Championships.
NSW Athletics selected Frederick in the NSW Schools Team to compete in the Australian Schools Championships in December 2015 where he jumped his personal best in both events.
The St Andrews College community wishes Frederick all the very best as he competes in the 2016 Athletics season which began with the College Athletics Carnival on Wednesday the 27th of April.

Commitment to Close the Gap clear for Western Sydney Catholic schools
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has released its first annual Closing the Gap report. This report outlines its contribution to improving socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly students and their families. CSPD Chief Executive Officer Jack de Groot said the report reflects the dedication of CSPD’s 6 500 staff in fostering reconciliation and equity through the organisation’s 80 outstanding school across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

Bishop of Parramatta recognises student excellence
Each year, one Year 12 student in every Catholic secondary school in the Diocese of Parramatta is awarded the Bishop of Parramatta Award for Student Excellence. This prestigious award is nominated by the school principal and recognises a student’s witness to their Catholic faith and outstanding contribution to the school community in areas such as academic excellence, sporting achievement, creative and performing arts, social justice, vocational education and community involvement.
