St Andrews College wins the NSW Upper Schools division of "Write a Book in a Day" Competition.

In 12 hours, ten students wrote 4000 words, illustrated, edited, published and bound a book. A challenge all students agreed was immensely enjoyable.

One of the competition organisers, who reads all the books, said that the student's entry "Malice" was one of the best she has read.

"Write a Book in a Day" begun in 1985 by the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers' Centre, the oldest writer's centre of its kind in Australia to encourage young Australian writers. The competition has since grown so large that handover was offered to The Kid's Cancer Project who has been promoting the competition of behalf of the KSP Writer's Centre for the past six years.

The competition has raised over $100,000 for The Kid's Cancer Project and all student books in NSW go to The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

St Andrews College entered three teams in the 2015 competition comprising students from Years 11 and 12. Each team was given a different scenario, outlining words they must include and main characters, one of which is an animal.
