Last week, Georgia Green, one of our bright Year 12 students, participated in the 24 hour MS Mega Swim for the second time to raise funds for people living with Multiple Sclerosis.
In her previous swim, her team fell short of their 100 kms goal by just 4 kms, so this time she entered the water with determination, intense willpower, and heart.
Despite their exhaustion, swimming through the 24 hours, her group managed to swim a massive 100.9 km, reaching their goal with 16 minutes to spare.
Not only did they reach their goal, Georgia’s team raised just over $8000 and were awarded the MS community award for their tremendous effort.
The fact that we had so many people show such support and encouragement gave us the push we needed to defy the odds.
Her friends, peers, teachers and everyone else at St Andrews College are extremely proud of what she has achieved.
She has truly proven herself to be an outstanding member of the community, who perfectly represents the school motto of ‘Going beyond’.
