On Friday the 11th of May, four students represented St Andrews College at the NSW All Schools Diving Championships.
This competition comprises the best divers from Catholic, Private and State schools in NSW and was held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. To qualify for this level of competition, divers had to have medalled at the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges competition held last month.
The divers representing St Andrews College and their events were as follows:
- Bianca Infante – 12 Years Girls Springboard
- Mia Rovira – 13 Years Girls Springboard
- Ethan France – 14 Years Boys Springboard
- Jemma France – 17+ Years Girls Springboard and 17+ Years Girls Platform
All divers were nervous at the calibre of competition but composed themselves well to execute their dives to the best of their ability. In their respective springboard events their placings were; Jemma 4th, Ethan 6th, Mia 8th, Bianca 5th. On Platform, Jemma pulled out some big dives to place 2nd, her highest placing ever at this level.
While the competition was the focus, our divers were also lucky enough to meet recent Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Esther Qin and her coach Australian and NSWIS Head Coach – Chava Sabrino.
I would like to congratulate all divers on their commitment this season and hope to see them all back next year.
