Many people living on the streets enjoy a hot drink and a visit from the St Vincent de Paul Night Patrol especially as our nights grow colder.
Once a month, students and staff from St Andrews College join the night patrol run by St Vincent de Paul to help hand out hot drinks, food, blankets and sundry items such as toiletries and clothing.
Known as the ‘Vinnies Van’ this College ministry helps people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness with a warm drink, snack and conversation. This helps break through the barriers of loneliness and isolation that many living on the fringe of society experience.
For our students it is a rewarding and highly valuable experience in building connections, developing respect and compassion for those marginalised within our community.
